Venue

​The Conference will be held at "Casa Central" Campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, located in downtown Santiago. The Campus is easily reachable using the metro system. The Line 1 (Red Line) metro station "Universidad Católica" is just in front Casa Central, Av Libertador Bernardo O Higgins 34, Santiago Centro, Chile​.

Transportation at Airport

HOW TO REACH THE VENUE FROM THE AIRPORT

The Conference will be held at "Casa Central" Campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, located in downtown Santiago. From the airport, you have three choices on how to reach Santiago downtown: Taxi, Minibuses, Buses

​

1. TAXI

Santiago Airport offers several official taxi companies. For general safety reasons, we do recommend you to choose one of the official companies: Taxi Oficial, TRANSVIP (http://www.aeropuertosantiago.cl/english/medios-de-transporte-desde-y-hacia-scl/taxis.html) and or Transfer Delfos (http://www.transferdelfos.cl/).
The average price to reach the city center (e.g., PUC Casa Central) is either 16.000 CLP (w/TRANSVIP), 17.000 CLP (w/Taxi Oficial) 18.000 CLP (w/Transfer Delfos), i.e., about 35 USD. To reach the municipality of Providencia you should add about 2000 CLP.


2. MINIBUSES

TRANSVIP and Delfos also offer the possibility of sharing a minibus with other passengers. The cost is naturally cheaper (about 5500 CLP to the city center - about 6000 CLP to Providencia), but considering that every passenger will likely go to a different place, it might take you quite long to reach your final destination.


3. BUSES

There are two companies offering regular (i.e., every 15 minutes or so) bus connections from (to) the airport to (from) the city center: TURBUS (http://www.turbus.cl/turbus/opencms/03_Aeropuerto/0303_Servicios_de_Buses/) and CENTROPUERTO (http://www.centropuerto.cl/).
A one-way ticket is about 1600 CLP. The fastest way to reach the city center is to get off at the Pajaritos BUS/Subway Station, and from there catching the train (red line) - direction "Los Dominicos". Get off at "Universidad Católica" station: "Casa Central" is just in front of the subway exit.

ACCOMODATION​



Here is a list of hotels and (below) hostels either near (walking distance) the workshop venue, or near the metro line 1, which has a stop at the venue (Universidad Catolica). You can of cource book directly at the individual websites, but we found some hotels/hostels for which the booking portals, such as 'Hostelworld.com' had better/lower prices. 
As of today (May 24, 2013) all the listed places have vacancies for the week of the workshop.

HOSTELS
There are several hostels in Santiago, which offer a cheaper accommodation, especially if you are sharing a room with somebody else. E.g. you will find a double room with a private bath for around 35 USD/person/night.
